As mentioned in a previous blog on this topic, the Welsh Government is currently considering building a dual carriageway to the south of the M4 and which would cut straight through the Gwent Levels.
Earlier this month the Welsh Government published a report, known as a Strategic Environment Assessment (SEA), assessing the environmental impacts of the options in the previous consultation. However, we believe that this report should have been published earlier in the process.
RSPB Cymru has joined forces with other organisations working to protect the Gwent Levels as part of CALM (Campaign Against the Levels Motorway) to campaign against this development.
You can help by emailing the Welsh Government about the issue over the weekend. Please see the CALM campaign website for further information about how you can help and links to contact details for the Welsh Government.
