Have you ever wondered what’s going on above your head whilst shopping in Cardiff's St David's shopping centre?
The roof of St David’s is actually a fantastic haven for wildlife; a green roof in the heart of the city home to hundreds of pollinator friendly plants, birds, bee hives and 60,000 bees. Yes that's right, actual bees!
Now, thanks to RSPB Cymru's Giving Nature a Home in Cardiff project, you and your pupils can climb on top of St David’s shopping centre to explore their green roof.
Our free roof top sessions are designed to help your pupils spot and identify the wildlife that lives on the green roof, score the roof for how well it’s giving nature a home and identify ways it could do even more to help our city’s wildlife.
Suitable for Key Stage 2 our roof top sessions last an hour and a half and are available Monday to Friday 09.00 – 15.00, throughout the year.
