Fancy some free family activities this March? From planting wellies with wildflowers to rummaging for mini-beasts in our bug-filled wheelbarrow, join the Giving Nature a Home in Cardiff Team at our events this March for lots of free family fun with nature.
Giving Nature a Home in Cardiff is RSPB Cymru’s flagship project delivered in partnership with the City of Cardiff Council. Through our family events we want to help children and families to spend more time with nature through fun activities, giving children the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and get hands-on with nature. So for some free family wild time this March, why not join in the fun at one of our events.
Family Fun Day at Ely & Caerau Community Hub
Saturday 5th March, 10am – 4pm
Take on a wild family challenge and join us to hunt for as much wildlife as possible in the grounds of Ely & Caerau’s Community Hub. From bugs to birds and bluebells – which family will find the most treasure!? The Hub will be packed with lots of other free activities for families so come along and join in the fun!
Family Fun Day at Rhydypennau Library
Saturday 19th March, 10am – 4.30pm
Join us and the brilliant Buglife to help brighten up a patch of unloved land and create a haven for wildlife outside Rhydypennau Library – a chance for families to help nature and have lots of fun! Your local Police Community Support Officers will be putting on their gardening gloves too. We’ll be on hand with our Bug Barrow full of creepy crawlies and help you plant your very own wildflower welly to take home and grow.
Fancy volunteering at one of our events?
Our events are supported by our fabulous team of volunteers. If you fancy joining our event volunteer team find out more about the role here.
Whether you’re a green fingered family with a love for all things creepy crawly or struggle to tell your blackbird from your ladybird, we look forward to sharing nature with you at one of our events.
