Wildlife Lovers! Take a stroll through Bute Park, in the heart of Cardiff city to see recently erected nestboxes, inspired by local artist Catherine Davies’ “Bird Picture Book” exhibition!
Here at RSPB Cymru, we are delighted to have been able to help Catherine with a project that contributes to the community and will help teach people more about birds, wildlife and how to help them!
The nestboxes, made with the help of local homeless shelter - The Huggard Centre, and built with wood kindly donated by Ian Williams Carpentry, were made as part of the exhibition and are decorated with words and pictures that demonstrate what a home means to people facing difficult circumstances! They are a beautiful addition to a magnificent park in the heart of the city which boasts a rich and diverse range of wildlife.
If you’re interested in creating your own home for wildlife please visit the RSPB website www.rspb.org.uk/hfw, if you’re taking a stroll through Bute Park sometime soon, make sure you keep an eye open for the exhibition nest boxes.
