Ever noticed gulls dancing on your school field?

Padding the grass to encourage a worm or two to appear. Blackbirds singing on your school roof? Robins outside your classroom window?

The RSPB’s Big Schools’ Birdwatch is a fantastic opportunity for you and your pupils to spot and count all the brilliant birds in your school grounds and take part in Europe’s biggest and longest running Birdwatch!

Over 90,000 pupils took part in our last Big Schools’ Birdwatch.  Now’s your chance to join in and help us make a difference again in 2017.

The next Big Schools’ Birdwatch runs from 3 January – 17 February 2017.

You can register online here using the ‘request a resource’ button. Everything you and your class need to take part can be found on this website, from spotter sheets to step-by-step guides to make birdfeeders and our trusty A-Z here to help your class identify all the birds they spot

PLUS! If your school is in Swansea or Cardiff we can come and help you do the Big Schools’ Birdwatch. Our Big Schools’ Birdwatch outreach sessions are free and last between 1 and 1½ hours, depending on the number of classes taking part. We’ll come armed with binoculars and spotter sheets and some expertise to help you and your pupils spot, record and identify all that you see.
