The race is on for farmers in Wales to enter this year’s RSPB Telegraph Nature of Farming Award, with applications being accepted until Friday 20 April. The award aims to find farmers who put in the most work on their land to help threatened countryside species and is run by the RSPB, supported by Butterfly Conservation and Plantlife, and sponsored by The Telegraph. • amazing, thanks for letting us know, they could be stopping off on migration to feed or if there were a pair of them they could be nesting in the area - it would be worth keeping an eye out for them in case they are nesting and let us know if you see them regularly. we have a pair nesting near Porthmadog at Glaslyn and they have laid three eggs this season already, we hope they'll hatch next month. this is the link to the project blog www.rspb.org.uk/.../default.aspx or if you'd like to know more visit the Date with Nature wesbsite www.rspb.org.uk/datewithnature

  • Wow! its only taken me an hour to find out how to make a comment on this website. I am not a twitcher but I do live in Wales and wanted to simply say that I saw two Ospreys circling over LLandudno late morning today 12/04 2012. I have only ever seen them before in Australia not only did I not believe my eyes, they were a wonderful sight.
