Used to have loads of greenfinches and they all disappeared; none at all during Birdwatch weekend. Delighted to see four beauties just now, on my Squirrel Buster filled with sunflower hearts. Hooray!
Best Wishes, Rosy
Brilliant, they seem quite rare in gardens now, I have one or two but not that often!!
Sharon : )
Glad they're back, still waiting to see if mine return this year.

I had my first pair in the garden on Saturday. Numbers very low everywhere in my area these days compared to how many there used to be.

Hi Rosy, I had lots of greenfinch last summer and over the winter have kept seeing the odd one now and again, but since we had the snow last weekend I have got four or five coming each day now, so here's hoping that they stay around awhile for both of us!

I had never even seen a greenfinch until I put sunflower seeds in my feeders. Now I can have up to 8 at tbe same time on a daily basis.
Yes ours stayed out of the picture for BGBW but they are back now, demolishing the sunflower hearts

Not seen any in my part of the world yet.
Kind regards Richard.
Ive even begun to recognise a few-Bandit because the black markings around his eyes look like a mask and Tiny who is,obviously, rather small!
Greenfinches are a mystery to me. About five years ago they were as common as muck in my garden, (London) but for some long time I haven't seen any at all. Where have they gone, and why?
