It's all done for another year, at least for me. I got the usual suspects and no more, so I have I've awarded my star status to the Goldfinch - they came out in force for me, and I didn't get any last year. I got 8 species last year, 5 this year, and only 2 of these were on last year's list - interesting. Which species was the star for everyone else?

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Well Done!
The Starlings topped it for me and they were only here for a few seconds, all 16 of them!! Whoosh, in they swooped nibbled and whoosh, out they went again, not to return. I did have some Goldfinches, but usually I have more than turned up for brekkie!

have fun, Jules
Red Vented Bulbul with the Purple Sunbird a close second for me :-)
LOL Andrew - are those on the RSPB recording list?
I haven't started my count yet.
Cheers, Linda.

Couldnt see them there linda
good luck with your count :-)
New to the site. Our star spot was a Black Cap - never seen up here (Manchester) before let alone in the garden :)
Bullfinch popped in for a while then a wren just outside the window -
No wrens this year and no long-tailed tits. A quarter of an hour in, no birds at all and dead silence. Looked around and spotted our friendly neighbourhood sparrow-hawk paying his daily visit. Birds returned after he flew off. This year had a moor-hen! Where did that come from?
Doing my count tomorrow do hope Mr Song Thrush turns up.
Wondering if I should count white doves/pigeons as we have two that visited this morning.
I suspect they are wedding doves released and are now fending for themselves as I dont think they have a homing instinct like racers do.
A very old Shropshire Lad.
2 jays were the highlight of my morning. I love their colouring.
I almost forgot to do the BGBW so am off to do it now and report back if I have any 'stars'!
It's not always easy to hug a hedgehog.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
