We thought Robins only fed on the ground - is it common for them to hold on to hanging bird feeders? we have quite a clever one!
Birds arent stupid how did they ever figure out that a polycarbonate tube floating in the air with green perches equals food?
Same with BGBW who tells them to hide away for those two days maybe they have their own human watch to see how many humans can be seen looking through the windows scratching their heads with puzzled looks on their faces lol.
Some cracking pix of robins using seed feeders :-)
A very old Shropshire Lad.
Also what time it is, they always appear at the same time of the day! Do they have a big clock somewhere?

Beautiful pic! Really captures the alertness of the bird.
BGBW? Sorry I'm being thick.
DUUUUUUUUUHHHH, I only just figured it out, what a dumb head. I was thinking it was a species of bird. Sorry it is Sunday, bit dopey.
Hi Vivvy,
We also have a clever robin. Ours used to always feed on the ground from the dropped sunflower hearts. Think he ended up getting jealous of the tits and finches and thought 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' and now regularly feeds of our feeder with sunflower hearts!

Fish are friends not food :-)
I don't believe it! Just as I have written this, my robin has flown to the feeder, and been intercepted by a greenfinch who has just chased him away!! A proper little scuffled has ensued! Been a great day for the birds today, my bullfinch even came back today after months of not seeing him. you can guarantee it will be a quiet day on the big birdwatch!
I know Alan!
Fleeting in and out! That's me haha!
We got a puppy just before Christmas so free time has been limited due to our new full time responsibilities ;-)
Had a lovely bird day today though so tempted me back to the boards for a nosey...
Hope you are well :-)
