We thought Robins only fed on the ground - is it common for them to hold on to hanging bird feeders? we have quite a clever one!
Excellent Maria...Superb pic....:0)))
An optimist sees the beauty of the complete rose.A pessimist sees only the thorn .
My robins (there are now a pair appearing each day) only rarely use the feeders and when they do, only stay for a second or two so photos are difficult to get. I never tire of robins - such energetic, colourful little birds. For all you robin fans, I thought I would share an early morning robin photo from yesterday - I was quite pleased with this one...

Nice pics, well done
Beautiful pictures...I have a lot to learn, including patience when taking photos of the birds. Its fun though and very satisfying when you get great shots like these.

That's the thing , Maria. There are literally thousands of great bird photos in books or on the internet but that's nowhere near as good as taking your own photos of the birds YOU see. I hope I never get tired of taking pics of the Sparrows in my garden. It would be sad if we only got pleasure from seeking out rarities to watch and photograph.

I agree, Galatas! All the birds in the world couldn't compare to the birds in my garden, I wouldnt trade them for anything :)
(unless we're talking about a family of owls... haha!)

Steady on ! I wouldn't go quite that far LOL
I have watched the birds in my garden for years now but have only just started to photograph them. I have followed all the advise on what food to put out and can't wait to sit for the BGBW to be able to sit for an hour to watch and record them.
Ha Ha, I had already decided to put the camera away for that time. My birds are definetly camera shy and I didn't want to scare them away. They like their routine though and usually arrive at the feeders the same times. We'll see though!
Oh well its a good excuse to sit and do nothing for a change.
