Today, we’re at a crossroads.
Northern Ireland has lost more wildlife
than anywhere else in the UK and despite commitments set in 2015, last week a RSPB NI review revealed that the
Northern Ireland Executive is failing on over 80% of targets to reverse nature’s decline.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
We have the power to hold our Government to account and to demand the changes that are needed to reverse the damage that’s been done to our wildlife and wild spaces. But only if we act now.
So, do we continue down the same destructive path, or do we become the generation that saves nature in Northern Ireland?
Let’s become heroes!

We already know what transformative changes must happen to save nature and #ReviveOurWorld. But we
need your help and voices
to make sure the calls for change are heard.
Over the next 18 months, we’ll be asking for your support to secure:
Targets written in law to recover nature
We know that commitments alone are failing; let’s call on the Government to make them legally binding
Funding for a green economic recovery
We need nature for our very survival, so let’s ensure the Government financially invests in its recovery, while also helping to create jobs
Legislation to tackle the climate emergenc
y
Northern Ireland remains the only region in the UK and Ireland with no legal commitments to reduce carbon emissions and penalise polluters. Let’s demand a Climate Change Act
A reformed food and farming system
Seventy-five percent of our land is agricultural, yet farmers are often incentivised to farm in ways that damage nature. Let’s call for legislation that rewards nature-friendly farming
Better laws to protect and govern nature
Let’s campaign for an independent Environmental Protection Agency in Northern Ireland who can hold businesses and individuals to account if they damage or mistreat nature
The Covid-19 crisis has shown our amazing ability to adapt and work together in the face of huge challenges. Let’s continue to unite and call on the Executive to make the transformative changes that are needed to create the Northern Ireland we want to live in.
Three ways you can help today
1. Join our campaign and demand targets written in law to save nature
We can show the Northern Ireland Executive and wider Assembly just how many people care about nature and want laws to protect it.
Sign the petition to #ReviveOurWorld here
2. Ask five friends or family members to sign the petition too
The more people who sign-up, the greater impact it has on those in power
Send this link to five people today
3. Keep an eye on your inbox to help us push for a green recovery
Decisions made in the coming months will have a long-term impact on our economy and the environment. Once you sign-up, we can email you the details of how to help ensure the Government makes the right decisions
We know the challenge is BIG, and RSPB NI can’t get there alone. So, let’s work together as a mass movement of people demanding action, and we will
#ReviveOurWorld
