Wild families come and climb inside TAPE! A completely unique experience with nature from a totally new perspective - close to being a spider or a moth!
Stretched between tree trunks like an impossible cocoon, TAPE is an exciting network of tunnels nestled in the trees for families to explore - the perfect excuse to go wild in the city and spend an unforgettable day in Bute Park this summer.
As well as climbing inside TAPE for a magic moment in the trees families can enjoy lots more at TAPE ....

Leafy Trail Day
Sat 1 - Mon 10 August | 8am - 8pm | Free Enjoy our family Leaf Trail to discover more about the leafy giants that tower over TAPE and find a Champion along the way. Bute Park is home to over 3000 trees and more Champion trees than anywhere else in the UK! Champion trees are the biggest of their kind in the UK, so get ready to meet some monsters!
Storytelling Day
Thu 6 August | 10am - 5pm | Free Join us for some wild storytelling under the trees near TAPE. Delivered by Llandaff North Library, enjoy tales of nature and adventures in the trees. Find a space on our blankets and tree stumps and read or listen for as long as you like. Suitable for children 5 - 10 years old.
Nature Detective Day
Tue 11 - Thu 20 August | 8am - 8pm | Free Become a superstar nature detective and join us for our TAPE Nature activity amongst the trees. Hunt high and low for all the natural treasures you can find, from the crunchiest leaf to the fir cone fit for a King, and stick them to your collecting card.
Storytelling Day Thu 13 and Thu 20 August | 10am - 5pm | Free Join us for some wild storytelling under the trees near TAPE. Delivered by Llandaff North Library, enjoy tales of nature and adventures in the trees. Find a space on our blankets and tree stumps and read or listen for as long as you like. Bug Hunt Thu 20 August | 10am - 5pm | Free Bug hunting, spider specimens and tails of webs and caterpillars! Come and meet the animals that could make TAPE themselves. Discover how they do it, explore them up close and go on a giant bug hunt with our Opal Community Scientist, Barbara Brown.
Colour Safari Fri 21 - Mon 31 August | 8am - 8pm | Free Hunt for a rainbow! Enjoy our family Colour Safari in Bute Park's famous flower borders - once the longest in Wales! Full of bee and butterfly friendly flowers and a rainbow full of colours - count how many colours you can find and match them to your safari card.
