Using a bird identifier app on my phone It's just identified the call of a long eared owl. I saw the bird from a distance, it was a little bigger than a pigeon. 11pm at night

I’m wondering how rare this is and if it should be noted.

Long Eared Owls are not rare, but they are certainly under-recorded, being crepuscular and cryptic.
