I think we can safely say he would not have been. Ditto Peter Conder.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

These people don't bother explaining. They only accuse. It's not as if they are on here because they care about birds and conservation, is it?

Yes, that's two posters on here who give an opinion but seem unable or unwilling to back it up with anything. I think the former as I can't think of anything that would back up their opinion.

Thanks Clare for posting the link to George Monbiot's article in the Guardian. I was on holiday in Europe when a friend sent me that link.
If I was disappointed at the Beccy Speight apology, I'm livid to discover I subscribe to a charity that has Ben Caldecott as a trustee.
The original post had pleased me greatly. I was sick and tired of being one of "a million unbelievably polite voices for nature".
