Jackdaw

Hi all, this afternoon I was in my bedroom watching our local jackdaw community. On the roof opposite I watched one hop up to the chimney then it spread its wings and flattened itself against it. I got my binoculars and there it was, wings spread, eyes closed, head to one side looking for all the world like a bat. It stayed like this, quite content, for a good couple of minutes till somebody walked by on their phone and it hopped off. It was perfectly fine and happy and I assume it was maybe sunning itself but I have never seen any bird doing that before. It was a little like a cormorant drying it’s wings but lovingly hugging a chimney while doing it! Has anyone else witnessed this sort of behaviour?
