Just because there's way too much great photography on this site...!
You know the feeling. You only got one or a few photos of it and they're not very good, but you can't bear to throw the photos away because they're all you have of that particular species. So you keep them, just until you get better ones :) We've managed to 'upgrade' some of the species below since these bad pics were taken, but not all...
Please join in! I can't be the only one who hordes terrible wildlife photos :)
Collared Flycatcher
Otter
Peregrine
and best (worst) of all, Nightjar!

Ah, he's only pretending to be outraged, he thinks it's a laugh :)
(though he might not be so amused if I hadn't already posted quite a few of his not-rubbish pics elsewhere on the forums!)
Each and every one of these fuzzy little tweety things is a special sighting and wonderful in their own right.
I am especially proud of my Japanese Skylark (thanks aiki) lol
Good on everyone who has been brave enough to post on this thread. Great to see such a lack of ego among such fab photographers. It would be aweful if we took ourselves too seriously !!

i am just LOVING this thread lol
excellent - like a spot puzzle in some cases

LOL This thread is hysterical. I have just spent several long minutes laughing at some of these shots.
I do what Seymour does, I delete everything that's terrible off the compact flash card while looking at them on the camera screen, then I delete the next batch when I upload them to the PC, then I delete even more when I look at them as large images.
I still have plenty of 'poor' ones though that I can't bear to delete. It would take me ages to find some and I promise to look tomorrow.
Best wishes Chris

Oh Chris, be careful deleting from the camera screen - its surprising what you see after downloading them to PC!!!!!
Where to start? Recently I ruthlessly thinned out because I'm too mean to update the computer and the new cameras bigger files were starting to eat my Gigabytes (painful that). And yet a quick scurry through showed several pics with fieldfares the size of ants from multiple locations, some barn owls looking like cabbage whites, and other odd survivors of dubious value.
But pride of place is this woodcock. It sat contentedly in my parents garden in plain sight ALL evening many Junes ago, and all I have to show are blurred photos.
But I can't delete them - as the only other time I've seen one clearly I ran over it! Luckily it was hunkered down on the road, was untouched by wheel or bodywork and I watched in my mirrors as it flew off unhurt and indignant.
LOL FM, brilliant story!!
Here's another of mine. One and only visit of a reed bunting to my garden.
