Add your miscellaneous photos or stories here

Rather than going off topic on other threads,  thought it may be better to create a general "miscellaneous" thread where you can add your stories or pics that are either memorable to you or pics you want to share with forum members;   they don't have to relate specifically to wildlife (as on Odds & Sods thread)  as Tea Rooms is for general chat/pics as long as you follow community acceptable guidelines !

To start it off I'll transfer over a few pics I put up for Wendy..............

@ Wendy,   I wasn't into photography back in my Aussie days and can't find the happy snappy pics except for these.....

For Mick...…...a pic of Glen McGrath

Pre-match preparations  !    and junk food  lol

  • Enjoyed your video TJ, African music and dancing is always good to see, I always love to see the colours of the clothes they wear.
We needed some dancers like that today while walking around a local village playing the uke!!!
  • " Look at Jimmy's badge Gaynor !!"

    The man's got taste Hazy:-)
  • Thanks for the thread, Hazel, and your sports memories and thanks to TJ for the dancers. My knees forbid it now but I spent many happy weekends for many years going to weekend music and dance festivals. The great thing about the sort of dance that went on there was that anyone who could walk could learn to do it. It is addictive because it is loads of fun and also a natural high. Dance the night away on Friday and Saturday nights, go to sleep after dawn in a tent with music going on all around outside the tent, then socialising and/or going to dance workshops during the day on Saturday and on Sunday morning after only a few hours of sleep, followed by driving home on Sunday afternoon. No idea what happened to the few photos, just as well perhaps, might make me weep for the fading of that well-spent past!
Gaynor, Any photos of your Uke group? A friend has begun collecting Ukes; last I heard she had 5 or 6.
  • Thanks Ann, a lovely memory shared, must been a lot of fun and good exercise workout added to the joy ! Sounded like a much more well behaved version of Woodstock in the 1960's which I only heard about as (thank goodness) I was too young those days to attend lol I only wore the 1960's clothing; 19" mini skirts, Mary Quant patterned dresses/skirts and bright lemon coloured hot pant shorts (no fellas, I don't have any photos lol) which I could get away with having stick insect legs and around 6 and half stone those days lol When we turned decade I changed into bell-bottoms and platform shoes ha ha !
  • No dance photos but rummaging through things for something else I came across this.  No one who has met me recently would probably believe this was me in 1984.  We did have colour photos by then (I'm not that old, for goodness sake!) but this was for an application which required black and white.

  • Lovely photo Ann and yes I would recognise you for sure from the photo,
  • Awww, you say the sweetest things, Hazel! But I'd barely recognise myself--lol!
  • Very nice photo, Ann.

I know exactly where you're coming from. I think when I look at myself now "how did that happen". LOL

I can see this thread is going to be a trip down memory lane.

  • A great thread to have started Hazel. A right pair of bonnie girlies!!
  • Very nice pictures everyone its nice to look back on old pictures.
