Hello Folks! It's time to go underwater and explore the wonderful world of UK fish. Some are spotty, some have stripes. Some prefer lakes, others prefer streams. Is this not one of the nicknames for Pike ( Esox Lucius) ? If I am right it refers to smaller specimens of the fantastic fish which grows quite large,even I have managed a couple over 20 lbs in local waters.

Thats where I have heard that name, it was another term for "Jack Pike" (small pike) when I was a kid well done Pete.
