Hey guys,
Out of interest I was wondering what is the most common bird in your garden and what part of the country you are from :)
I live in west London and my area has quite a few trees and I must say that the most common birds in my garden are Great Tits!
What about you?
I get alot of goldfinches, greenfinches , sparrows, and the od couple of blue and great tits and Starlings all great fun to watch
Hi Twinkie,
I live in rural Suffolk and the most common birds in my garden at the moment are blackbirds and blue tits, with a flock of long-tailed tits passing through most days. It is a great temptation to forget about the housework for an hour or two and just watch them!!
Hi Twinkle
I live in south Ayrshire and the most common for me at the moment is sis in,redpoll and goldfinch, also GT,BT and CT as I write this I am watching them feeding outside my window.
if you put food out, they will come!
Hi! Our most frequent visitors are Blue Tits. They easly outnumber anything else.
Wow Northern Lass, I'm so jealous of your birds of prey. Pretty as they are, all I get are sparrows, starlings and the odd collared dove. I've yet to work out how to entice the ring-necked parakeets which are numerous in NW London.
Hi twinkie my most common bird is mr and mrs blackbird.
I have a resident thrush and robin and a few blue tits and sparrows! NoNever seen a starling in 4years but have sparrows a plenty! Micolo

hi from the west midlands, i should think that our most common bird is blackbirds- have a more or less resident pair that with the recent snowfall, chase away any other blackbirds! also a robin and sparrows- i usually get a flock of about 10-15 birds descend on the feeder, but do get the occassional visit from tits, blue and coal tits.
This time of year it's a close call between finches, chaffinch and goldfinch about equal numbers, tree sparrows and siskens with pheasants hot on their heels.
A bird in the hand can make an awful mess!
Hi. I live just on the edge of lowestoft in suffolk. The most common to my garden is a toss up between Starlings and Goldfinches.
I too am new to the forum, and live in SE London. I get a couple of great tits, 1 loyal blue tit, a couple of collared doves and of course a of pigeon :)
