Hello Folks! The quizzes are back (can i hear a Yay! of excitement or a groan of Oh no!)Flowers not only decorate our meadows, our woodlands, our roadsides with splashes of colour, but they also provide food and shelter for a whole host of insects. We have only to look at UK flowers to appreciate their beauty, their scent, their diversity. Each Monday for 12 weeks (and yes I know its Tuesday today - forgive me), I will be posting a little teaser for you. Without looking in books or on the internet (i.e - no cheating), see if you can identify the UK flower. On Wednesday, so as long as no-one has guessed it, I will post one clue. On Friday I will post the answer along with some additional information for your interest.Keep a note of each species, as I will be asking which is the odd one out at the end of the quiz.MYSTERY FLOWER QUIZ#1The nature of my bite is a thorny issue.
I'll start the ball rolling with Rosa canina

I'm going for Dog Rose as well (think it is a poor name for such a nice flower)

Clue: Soar in a can.
@Germain - I did indeed, though I cannot seem to shake this jetlag. Only just finished mountain of washing, not had chance to tackle photo editing yet.
Sticking with Dog Rose.
Mrs T, that is the problem with long distance flying, recycled air does not help, you need to get out on the reserve and get some good lung fulls of RSPB air :)
Its odd i have flown further and had no problems at all, I shall endeavour like you say to get plenty of fresh air!
Well I can't think of anything else so will go with everyone else! Not too sure yet how it ties in with the 2nd clue though! Lol!
Look forward to when you get around to those photos MrsT!!! :-)

Photos are a job for the weekend, when I can go through them leisurely.
