There are a number of different local names for Song Thrush (same with most widespread birds), including 'throlly', so there is no one right answer for this. Same goes for question 1 - there are other ways you could divide them up eg:
Snipe and Woodcock both have one-word names
Snipe and Woodcock are both in the subfamily Scolopacinae while Barwit is in the subfamily Limosinae
Snipe and Woodcock have the same plumage all year round while Barwit has a different breeding plumage

Awnser for no.2 was a woodcock, the only wader that doesn't have a wetland habitat.
Also another nickname for a song thrush is a Mavis.
I'll add that Barwits can be reliably sexed in the field - the others can't as far as I know
I'm glad no one said Barwits have white rumps and the others don't as that isn't 100% true
