I was going to vote on my favourite birdsong but I noticed my favourite isn't there. And that's the little Wren. In my opinion it has the most lovely song and loud, especially for it's size. I loved this link from the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/science/birdsong.shtml
I agree...wren for garden birds, skylark for 'others'. I could lie in the heather on the moors all day, listening to the skylarks & watching the white fluffy cloud amble across the bright blue sky, watching the bees in the heather & eating ripe juice worts fresh from the bush, turning my fingers purple...heaven :0)
Bella, there was a man from the commune looking for you earlier :)
It's both what you do and the way that you do it!
You cannot fly like an eagle with the wings of a wren. William Henry Hudson (1841 - 1922)
Thanks...was he carrying a little jacket with lots of strap & buckles ? I'm in hiding from him. Don't tell him I'm hiding in the heather listening to the skylarks will you ?! :0)
i like how in the countryside that its peacefull and all you can hear is the birds and hardly any traffic at all. where i live is totaly quiet and when the sun is shining you can sit under a shade of a tree and see the blue tits and other birds flying into the bird feeder. its wonderfull being that close to the birds.
hannah paterson

Why cant you do that penny? Im sure any garden will attract birds?? I often wish I could stay at home somtimes and just watch the birds but alas must go to work....
