We’ve picked a Top 10 for you to choose from. Some songs are melodic, others wistful and haunting – I am sure you all have a favourite. I would have said Blackbird or Nightingale but three years ago I visited RSPB Lakenheath Fen and heard the most melodious short trill ever a Golden Oriole, we never saw it but that sound will live with me forever.........:-)

I picked Blackbird but it could have gone to Song Thrush, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Blackcap or Robin!

I am surprised that Nightingale is not on the list as that's the songbird everyone thinks of as the iconic songster,over rated in my humble opinion, but I am quite happy to hear any of them

Garden warbler should have been on the list. I voted for blackbird, but having heard a GW that would have been my vote if it was on offer.
