Springwatch poll number 2 - What has been your 2011 highlight

Springwatch has to come to an end once again, how fast did it go this year!!! Some great places with awesome flora and fauna on show and the presenters did a stirling job of pieceing it all together. Now here is a chance to look back on the shows and think about the highlights this year, there are many to choose from, thanks for your suggestions so far, so please find below a poll to select what you think is the stand out moment of Springwatch 2011

And the nominees are...

Warden Intern at Otmoor.

  • Well, voting has now closed on the springwatch highlights poll and Liz Bonnin and her exploits on the landfill site at Pitsea is the clear winner, well deserved! Things were tight for second place though with a three way tie between the Ynys-hir buzzards, Iolo on Skomer and the footage of hawfinches.

I must say a big congratulations to the Springwatch team for a fantastic season and we are already looking forward to next year. Thank you for voting and please keep up with the goings on at Ynys-hir via the reserve group linked here.

  • The jay attacking the wrens nest. Not very nice but I liked the way the remaining young burst out and huddled together in a new location.
