Seabirds are birds that have adapted to life within the marine environment .In general, seabirds live longer and breed later they invest a great deal of time in their young. Most species nest in colonies, which can vary in size from a few dozen birds to millions.

Oh, but what do you do if you love Guillemots but can't stand Razorbills?? ;)
I love them all, but have voted for Herring Gull as I have a particularly long-standing fondness for this species. I grew up in a seaside town with a large population of breeding Herring Gulls. We lived in one of the tallest (and thinnest) buildings. I used to love going up to the top and looking out over the rooftops at the hustle and bustle of the 'gull city', superimposed on top of the human town.

I've also voted for the herring gull - when they perch on the railings by the seafront and make their call, they sound like they are laughing, and it is so infectious it makes me laugh along with them.
Like Aiki, I was brought up in a seaside town, and have many happy memories of these birds.
Cheers, Linda.

My vote was for fulmar.
Many moons ago when I was in primary school, we had one that was found in trouble on the local beach following the sea empress spill. Wish I could remeber how it got there, I know people where looking after seabirds left right and centre as my granmother had a herring gull in the outhouse at the same time.
-- wasn't the sea empress spill, at least a decade before that lol
It's both what you do and the way that you do it!

No contest here Puffins all the way I have never seen one in the flesh ( or feather) but definitely on my to do list.

Pssst! Nudge nudge Wanna see some pictures Here
My vote goes to Herring Gull. Firstly because their call reminds me of being on holiday and secondly because one swooped down and stole an entire cornish pasty from my Dad's hand once. He was so shocked and appalled - it was hilarious to watch!

I had an almost identical experience on holiday in Cornwall :)
One time when I was little, one of the Herring Gulls from our own rooftop pair flew down into our back garden and started battering a terracotta cat model on the patio. My mum ran out, angrily shouting at the gull, but the patio was a bit wet and she slipped over rather spectacularly. I shouldn't have laughed, but... :)
Hi Tom
I must confess that my knowledge of seabirds isn't as good as my knowledge of other birds (and that couldn't be called expert by any means). However, I think puffins are great little birds, so I voted for them despite the fact that I have never seen one in the wild.
Best wishes Chris
