Hello everyone
The RSPB sell a range of books about birds, nature and wildlife in general, you can view the range here. We want to know which is your favourite so below you will find five of our popular titles, please vote for your favourite. We don't expect you all to have every title but if you own one or more then we would be really interested to hear your comments about them.
If you can think of any other books RSPB sell which you think deserve a mention, your comments will be appreciated!

Forgot to mention, its World Book Day 2011 on the 3 March (next Thursday), you have until then to vote!
Hi Ian
Nice idea for a thread
I do not have any books on the voting list but I do have a RSPB book called
Attracting wildlife to the Garden by Michael Chinery
If that is any help to the books that we have.
We must make a concerted effort to buy more books from the RSPB now and in the future
Regards
Kathy and Dave
Hi Ian,
There isn't a wide enough selection there for me. I don't have any of those books so am unable to vote, but I do have several other excellent RSPB books, including Nature of Britain, which is a beautiful hardback, and British Birds of Prey (by our own Marianne Taylor aka Aiki) - highly recommended, glossy hardback full of beautiful photos and all you need to know about these birds.
Cheers, Linda.

I opted for the bird box when I joined up... so haven't got the book. Haven't got the bird box yet either :(

I only have one RSPB book, and it is The RSPB Handbook of British Birds that I received when I joined the RSPB.
You now have a newer edition out but I suppose that they are basically the same.
That has my vote by default. :-)
Best wishes Chris

I'd have to vote for the handbook of british birds.... I really need to buy the 3rd edition now that I love the 2nd edition.
Also I have the 'NATURE OF BRITAIN' book, which, I bought it new for only 4 pounds.... (it was on a sale at 5 pounds, used my 20% off and voila!) which is a great book!
I also have the pocket guide which was my first ever proper field guide, I still love it...
I also enjoyed reading 'Everything you always wanted to know about birds' and 'Drawing Birds' which I borrowed from the library.
I also have the 'Birdfeeder Handbook' which doesn't seem to be available now, but it's still a great book :)
PS The newer edition has some rarities and shows some raptors etc flying next to each other for comparison :)
'Dip a dee dah, dip a dee ay, we're not seeing any birds to-day...'
Ditto, Woodpecker
I got the Handbook when I joined last year and I still really like it.
I've acquired a few more since then, including the Collins, but it still gets my vote here.

Thanks for the reminder, Ian.
There's loads going on in public libraries all that week, so go along everyone and support your local library (before it's closed down!!!!!)
Also, may I remind you that on 1st March it's International Hug a Librarian Day - so, you know what to do!!!!!!!

Dave has pointed out that we have 2 other RSPB books. So here they are:
So we have 3 RSPB books. We have kept all of our books even though some of them are very old now and probabily out of circulation.
Still worth keeping at all costs
Like the thought of a 'book' day too!
My favourite book is a new one:: "Wild things to do with Woodlice and 364 other activities"
