Name the species and the gender.
No, no not the Pied Wagtail but the tasty morsel destined as a treat for its youngsters. LOL

Cracking photo TJ & I'm going for a female Beautiful Demoiselle. In France all Damselflies are called Demoiselles, as are young ladies. So if you're over here don't tell anyone you're off to the woods to look at the Demoiselles! They may well call the gendarmes!LOL
Best wishes
Hazel in Southwest France
@ Tony, you must have heard me shout "its a Pied Wagtail" lol have to agree with Hazel on this one with female Demoiselle but don't ask me the difference between beautiful and banded variety lol

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
I'm seeing a white spot on the wings so I'm going to say Banded Demoiselle (Female).

Paul wins the prize (if there was one). Here's what it looks like - obviously a different one LOL
Thanks for having a go.
At last.!! The law of averages said that I had to get one correct eventually. I've never won anything in my life although I did get 2nd place in a 'Bonnie Baby' contest many, many years ago. Apparently I had a double barrel 'leakage' at a critical point in the judging process which forced the issue and the title unfortunately went to another baby.!! :-(
Thought this quiz a was going to be very easy until I read further on!! would have had no idea. Paul A sorry to hear that you lost out on first prize!!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I won a prize once for the silliest answer in a quiz, a tin of sardines.
You're quite right about banded, I looked at the wings & thought they looked brownish rather than greenish, must get my eyes tested!
If "a tin of sardines" was the silliest answer, what was the quiz question & correct answer,Hazel? :-) Great pictures btw,Tony.
It just shows how silly I am, the sardines was the prize (to give me more brain power).
The question was a photo of a round pebble & you had to say what you would use it for. My answer was Limpet bashing, to get them off the rocks you had to bash them side-on, I was a horrible child!
