A quick POLL

Hi- when out in the field how many of us carry 1- a knife of some kind - swiss army etc 2- a compass I ask because the other day when out birding I split a nail and had left my swiss army card in the car- I asked over a dozen birders if they had similar and none did. S

  • We always have a knife & also a compass when in woods following trails on the map (French maps are not great & we've been lost a few times). Also a mobile phone in case of accidents. Always a bottle of water in case we get lost despite the compass. We never see any other birders when we're out!

    Best wishes
