The connection could be that both Kentucky Bluegrass & Bromus Sterilis are exotic species found in Suffolk County, Mass, USA & are considered invasive species???

Answer tomorrow.
Congratulations to all of you who guessed Barren brome (Bromus sterilis). Let’s start with the clues! First clue: From Kentucky to Suffolk. Barren is a county in the US state of Kentucky and Brome is the name of a village in Suffolk in the UK. The second clue: Soul timber, sirs. This is simply an anagram of the Latin for Barren brome grass, Bromus sterilis. Barren brome is also known as Sterile brome and Poverty brome.
Found along hedge banks and roadsides and on waste ground and arable fields during May to July, Barren brome grass is an annual grass that can grow up to 85cm in height. Its rough; flat and hairy leaves are light green in colour. Barren brome grass has loose and drooping panicles (seed head with a main axis and spreading branches) and its spikelets are compressed and ‘v’ shaped.
A picture of Barren brome is found here.
Did you know that: Barren brome grass turns a purplish colour after flowering.
Keep an eye out for next week’s Mystery Grass & Sedge quiz here soon!
