Once again, it’s time for MrsT’s quizzes to branch out and spread their roots, and this round... you’ve guessed it, its trees! They help regulate our climate and provide food and shelter for a whole host of animals as well as providing us with a variety of resources, we might otherwise take for granted. Let’s face it, what wood (pun intended) the world be without trees? They come in all shapes and sizes, as do the leaves and fruit that they bare and yes, I was one of those kids who loved the school trip to Westonbirt Arboretum. For the next 12 weeks, I will leaf you with a clue or two about trees for you to mulch over.EnjoyMYSTERY TREE QUIZ #8
Clue: For the love of branza.
P.S: sorry for delay in posting, busy day!
I think brânză is the Romanian word for a type of cheese made in many parts of central and eastern Europe but I don't know whether I'm on the right track. Birch bark is sometimes used to wrap cheese to preserve or flavour it.
So, I'm going to guess, either Silver or Downy Birch.

Hello,
???????
It took me quite a while to make up my mind to post my first idea. And I am afraid I will never get a better one, so there it is: Portia Tree / Thespesia populnea. I worked with "Branza" and thought it might be an anagram. So I came to St. Abran. The "Z" is missing there, but nethertheless... St. Abran had many brothers and three sisters, and one sister was named "Portia" And as you most of the time love your brothers and sisters I had a try with her and came to "Portia Tree".
I am really looking forward to reading what you others migth find out.
Yours, Bente

a good laugh is better than a tonic
Good clue Ray, cheese is "pressed" in the making. Don't know, however, if there are any native cypress.
