Day 16:What nature have you given a home to?
Log pile for beetles and bugs and any hedgehogs; 11 bird nesting/roosting boxes, pond/waterfall area for other water dwelling creatures and spent £500 on a new electronic gate control box so more slugs can find a new home LOL !!

Three nest boxes for Blue & Great Tits. I've got a nest box designed specifically for Wrens but the little blighters haven't used it (as far as I know).
I've also got a compost heap/bin which I've seen a Slow Worm using although I didn't provide it for that purpose.

Birds feeding on the different feeders and also plenty of water for them to bathe in and different shrubs and plants really excellent for wildlife. I've actually got Hedgehogs nesting in the Garden for the last few years which is excellent.

I live quite happily with the odd spider, as long as they don't bother me I allow them to stay.

2 nest boxes under the eaves, a hedgehog house that I only put out this year so I don't know if it has been used or not. I also put a Robins' teapot nester in the holly bush which was stuffed full of nesting materials within 3 days of it going in there. No idea if anything came of it as I've kept my distance since then. Solitary bee house and a few log piles for creepie crawlies.

We have a nesting box up, which got used by a family of blue tits this year. We also have a dear little mouse who persists in using our garden storage cupboard!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
House Sparrows and Starlings nesting in the roof. House Sparrows have been there for more than twenty years, but Starlings were a first this year and got two broods away. Great to watch them fledge!
We also have starlings nesting in our roof - we didn't do anything to entice them to nest there, they just came! I love it when all the lovely fledglings start appearing in the garden and chase their parents with their beaks open wide.
14) can't think of any specifically, but always great to hear news about new species being found!
15) Hedgehog, and goldfinches.
16) Fresh food and water plus lots of bugs boxes, log piles and general untidiness (I am NOT a gardener!! Lol) + lawn not mowed for 10 years, so plenty of all sorts! :-)
Pond due to go in at some point too.
