Welcome to the RSPB Communities Christmas Advent calendar! Rather than chocolates (sorry), with each day that leads up to the big day, why not open a virtual Advent calendar window and reveal a teaser for you to ponder or post a picture. There is no right or wrong answer, the answers will simply be what you want to appear in that window. It’s Christmas, so let’s have some fun!Claire
Day 24:Favourite Communities post?
Isn't that another dangerous question - like the "Fav Mod" one? Whatever I answer, I'm bound to offend someone! As a married chap, I'm wise to the ways of avoiding these "Does my bum look big in this" type of questions :-)

Not at all Whistling Joe, it could be one of your own, any post you like. There is no right or wrong answer and at the end of the day, this is just a bit of seasonal fun, so you won't offend anyone and certainly not me! And as for the last cheeky question, my OH always tells me as it is!
Not sure if I've understood the question, & haven't been around that long, but the post on this thread of Limpy & the lions was outstanding.
Best wishes

I've got to nominate this one. Back in July my husband, Limpy, spent a day at Rutland Water - he was treated to a whole day of the three Manton Bay youngsters demonstrating their flying skills and as a result he came back having taken nearly 1000 photos! He eventually managed to whittle them down to just over 200 and he's been posting them in batches since mid-November. I can't begin to tell you all how impressed I've been at the sheer effort he's put in to share them all - I can certainly say there has been a lot of frustration along the way! Here's a link:
Getting Their Feet Wet
I should mention that there's one more batch of photos to go on it!!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Earlier this year Higgy50 posted a thread that still has Clare in fits whenever she sees it.

Well, OK Mrs T, you win :-)
No one specific thread, but there are a few in the Photography section, mostly started by Lolly as she was working out what kit to buy (What's your favourite lens, Canon stuff again, Tomorrow tomorrow and the like). They're all choc full of people sharing their knowledge, experience and opinions and to me, that's what communities are all about :-)
Fantastic choice, Alan.
This one! ; ) Well done Mrs T!
As an avid reader and bit of a gear freak I find these threads interesting but would not like to choose just one
