Welcome to the RSPB Communities Christmas Advent calendar! Rather than chocolates (sorry), with each day that leads up to the big day, why not open a virtual Advent calendar window and reveal a teaser for you to ponder or post a picture. There is no right or wrong answer, the answers will simply be what you want to appear in that window. It’s Christmas, so let’s have some fun!Claire
Day 7:What animal would you bring back from extinction?

The passenger pigeon.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I would bring back some of the Dinosaurs. It would be very nice to see something that size. Also as far as birds go the Great Auk.
Regards,
Ian.
You'd want to see a T-Rex or a Velociraptor close up??????

A very big distance!
How about the Elephant Bird. I remember a TV programme in which Sir David Attenborough found remains of their eggshells on Madagascar.

A very difficult one. Possibly the Stephens Island Wren, at one time believed to be the only known species to be made extinct by one single individual, a cat called Tibbles. More here for anyone interested.Paul
