Once again, it’s time for MrsT’s quizzes to branch out and spread their roots, and this round... you’ve guessed it, its trees! They help regulate our climate and provide food and shelter for a whole host of animals as well as providing us with a variety of resources, we might otherwise take for granted. Let’s face it, what wood (pun intended) the world be without trees? They come in all shapes and sizes, as do the leaves and fruit that they bare and yes, I was one of those kids who loved the school trip to Westonbirt Arboretum. For the next 12 weeks, I will leaf you with a clue or two about trees for you to mulch over.EnjoyMYSTERY TREE QUIZ #3Clue: Soft, strong and very long.
Ok, with hubby being an Ex-Shell man I know that Ethanol (bio fuel or Gas in the clue) should be in here somewhere ....I know in Australia they extracted Ethanol from sugar cane but heard it can also be produced from Pine trees, .........how's that for an Oil industry wife ? lol

Crikey, another challenging clue.
As BW says, Soichiro Honda was the founder of the Honda car company. Honda are launching a vehicle powered by a Hydrogen fuel cell. Hydrogen is of course a gas but that's as far as I've got and I've no idea where to go next.

Oooh dear... what have I done? Did you know MrsT owns a crash helmet?
I didn't see Hazy's answer when I posted. She could be on to something. Don't they use Willow as a sustainable source for bio-fuels?
Turpentine is extracted from Pine, wonder if this can be used for making fuel?
