Well done, Shane. I couldn't get the connection to the first clue so had to look it up. Apparently, Tape Worm was a band that was a side project of Nine Inch Nails but never issued any records. I've never heard of either of them which shows just how old I am.

Congratulations to all of you who guessed Tapeworm. First a bit about the clues! First clue: Broken nine inch nails. This refers to the band Nine Inch Nails for whom Tapeworm was a defunct (and therefore broken) project. Tapeworm never released any material and existed from 1995 to 2004. Band members included Messrs Reznor, Lohner and Clouser, who were occasionally joined by artists such as Maynard James Keenan, Atticus Ross, and Alan Moulder – effectively making Tapeworm a supergroup! The second clue: Pate, Mr Ow? is simply anagram of Tapeworm.
Tapeworms are flatworms that live in the digestive tracts of vertebrates. Some can find their way into humans via the consumption of unprepared pork, beef or fish or other food that has been prepared in poor hygiene conditions. Tapeworms can grow up to 100ft (Whale tapeworm). It is the head or ‘scolex’ of the tapeworm that attaches itself to the intestines of a vertebrate via numerous bothria (sucking grooves). The body of the tapeworm is made up of segments or proglottids.
