Hi everyone!
Have been trying to add this message on and off since lunchtime - my computer seems incredibly slow today - in the meantime there have been another 2 or 3 new people on board!
Thought I would register for the bird watch as I have been feeding the birds since the snowy weather began and have gone from one robin and one wagtail to 2 male blackbirds and one female, a sparrow, several starlings and 2 collared doves, all now very regular visitors to my boring patch of garden (moved into rented accommodation in the summer and not being sure how long I would be here have done nothing to the rectangle of grass and wooden fencing). I have just been putting out the crusts of bread and pizza, some cheese and apples and jacket spud left overs plus a bowl of water, and the occasional scattering guinea pig food. I am now encouraged to put out some more exotic nuts and seeds to see if I can get any more.
Its amazing how these birds appeared overnight! The robin has been a friendly visitor for a while and I had been putting out cheese for him on the window sill, he also like to go into the guinea pig hutch. Then the wagtail would appear on and off, but the others literally appeared one day and have come back every day since!
As you can all tell I am a beginner.....!

Hi Lyn, No patch of garden is boring . Always something happening and I'm glad you're puting food out for them and they'll return all the time. You'll love it here. Everyone is so nice and friendly and they';ll help if they can.
Lots of fun, Tish

Hello Lyn, a warm welcome to the forum. I am sure you will enjoy it here.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hello Lyn,
Welcome to the forum from me. We are a friendly bunch, and there are many members with a lot of knowledge (not me) who are always willing to help. I was a total beginner last May and have learnt such a lot from this forum. It's a good place to be. You are lucky to have a wagtail by the way - not many can say they have a regular like that. I hope to hear more fro you.
Cheers, Linda.
