Hello everyone and a belated Happy New Year!
This community looks great - love all the photos and it's nice to have friendly help identifying birds too, and of course chatting about them. I think my friends will be glad I've joined as they get fed up of me stopping them mid-shopping trip cos I've seen a tree full of starlings or something!
Our garden in North Wales is full of birds at the moment - we had ten male blackbirds this morning at one time! We also have a friendly robin and lots of house sparrows and chaffinches, and a beautiful song thrush has been here while it's so cold and she can get lots of free food!
I'm usually a student in Cardiff and you can see lots of birds in the parks there. I'm going to build a bird table for the garden too now that the next door neighbours and their hungry cat have moved out!

Welcome to the forum. I'm a newbie too; only joined yesterday. Still trying to find my way around. Just discovered how to stop being inundated with automated emails.
Beware though it can become addictive.

The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
