As we Scots would say:-
Lang may yer lum reek!" is a common Hogmanay toast, and means "long may your chimney smoke." (May you have enough coal to keep warm this winter!)
"A guid New Year to ane an' a' and mony may ye see!" A good New Year to one and all, and many may you see!.
Hope you all have a good 2025, and have a wee dram or two
Best wishes CL x

Happy New Year all. Fingers crossed for days off and reasonable weather aligning in 2025!!
Stay Safe All
Happy New Year to you all, hope this weather doesn't get too bad.
Hi Linda, heavy snow overnight into yesterday am. Had plans to go into town (10 miles) for a funeral in the morning, but we also had no power from after 4am sometime until 2.30pm, so never went, too, chancy. The rain came and washed snow away, we are oil heated and electric, I will never take a hot shower for granted again!! The house was freezing, we are always okay and prepared, battery lanterns, camping stove and kettle, plenty gas canisters. They are all used, not regularly but on many occasions. Today hail and sleety showers, minus temps for Friday! Hope you are all okay and coping weather wise. CL x
Am glad things never get that bad here CL but a guess your used to it. Started off with sleet then turned to snow for a while but way too wet for it to lie. Sunshine tomorrow after freezing temps tonight and snow expected over the weekend now.
Stay safe CL x
