I've been hearing a cuckoo in the morning this last week. Have to imagine it's a juvenile as the adults leave promptly after mating and finding a host for their egg. Am I going mad or has anyone else heard one this late in the season?

While I've not heard a cuckoo calling this late in the year, that includes juveniles, I do know there are some around, and a couple of local wildlife amateur photographers have managed to photograph one, or two during August, but not heard.
