Is this a Peregrine Falcon. Dead dissected pigeon nearby. North Yorkshire

It's a female Sparrowhawk not a Peregrine I'm afraid. The female is quite a powerful bird quite capable of taking down a pigeon whereas the smaller male tends to focus on smaller garden birds.
