Hunting Kestrel

I’m blown away this morning. We had a male Kestrel swoop into our garden after one of the Great Tits that was feeding on the seed we put out. I feel sorry for the little guy, but what a spectacle to have seen, and a good breakfast for the Kestrel!

I’m so grateful to be able to support the local birds and wildlife by giving my garden up to nature.

  • I have witnessed that on a couple of occasions in the past Lucy only the poor victims were Starlings and the screeching was horrendous to hear but all over in seconds as the Kestrel flew off with his prey ... all the other birds, mainly sparrows, were hiding in a Pyracantha bush!

  • Ahh wow. I was so taken aback because I didn’t think they’d venture into built up spaces. It certainly knew what it was doing. Circle of life I suppose but I’m glad there’s still plenty of Great Tits left to visit my garden every morning
