Heard my first cuckoo of the year on Saturday this weekend (27th April). Not sure if this is early or not. Has anyone else heard one yet?

Thank you Wendy, that is very interesting - actually, I think I heard 2 of them, as the call was coming from 2 different directions but in close proximity.
No more robins sighted in my garden I am afraid after the disappearance recently of the nesting pair
Still not too late to get another Robin pair as they do have several broods ... some consolation with the Cuckoos though!

Hello William - I am in North Buckinghamshire and I was next to a ploughed field with trees at one edge and a hedge at the other. I heard the calls from both directions. No traffic or other noise around.
Hello Jane from SW. Devon. Live right next to the countryside myself, But cannot remember the last time i heard a cuckoo. They have been reported in Devon in general.
Saw my first ever cuckoo this morning 10 may early morning in r neighbours tree been hearing it for last few days
