First the stoats of Orkney, now the deer of Cumbria.
For a charity that prides itself on giving Nature a home, the RSPB seems to do an awful lot of culling.
Are there not alternatives?
Should the membership be canvassed for suggestions?

Lead - copper bullets and deer control
Sadly Deer Control has to happen at time along with other wildlife control as well! All wildlife conservation organisations in the UK have to do this as well at times as well And I do agree. I never get over sentimental about this and sometimes difficult and hard decisions have to be made and I take a pragmatic approach on these difficult decisions. Read Mark Avery’s blog when he was the RSPB’s Dirrctor of consevation. Link above.

Ian.
