Hi can anybody tell me what bird of pray this is. We are used to sparrow hawks but this seemed bigger and has these white markings on its back?
Bird of prey is a sparrowhawk. Looks quite small in the photo and is a male.
Ok thanks, just never seen those markings on the back.
No probs. Sparrowhawks are quite variable, and change a bit as they get older. The white patches aren’t unusual and there have been a few posted on here over the years.
