Bird watching equipment to sell

Hi

my father has recently passed away. He was a keen bird watcher and had specialist equipment such as expensive binoculars and tripods ect.

was wondering if there is a place I could just go to sell these items asap. I have looked on eBay but unsure really what I am looking for and unsure what the interest would be. Would I be able to sell them on here?

please could someone give me some advice?

kind regards

alex

  • Maybe have a look at reputable companies like Wex Photographic, London Camera Exchange etc, they sell used equipment alongside new stuff, but I'm not sure if they buy or only part exchange
  • Hi Alex,   sorry to hear that your father passed away, my condolences to you and your family,      If the equipment your father had was high end then it may be an idea to google like for like equipment and compare condition as 2nd hand gear can be very sort after if it is quality optics and I should think if you find the right place to sell you will have no trouble finding a buyer.     Worth doing a bit of research for like items that have sold so you can maximise the price you get.   Unfortunately, this community doesn't have a facility for advertising used gear but maybe worth looking at other birding forums (where you will most likely have to register in order to sell )   I found this one online but other forum members may be able to suggest other platforms for selling,    Good luck.

  • You could try Cley Spy - they sell 2nd hand equipment from trade-ins, but also handle commission sales where they take a cut after selling an item for you
