Dear bird lovers
I am new to this portal. I have a question. I have been feeding birds in my garden for over two years, and the same pigeons and magpies sparrows etc come several times a day for water and food. They bring me so much joy. I even have names for each of them.
My father recently said I should stop feeding then and leaving water out and if I don't stop, he will ask me to leave the house.
I am so sad as the birds come each day and sit there right beside me, but I cannot feed them
Will the birds starve? I know they need to start feeding for winter soon. And my heart breaks just seeing them hungry or thirsty.

Hi there
Hi there,
I am not housebound and I do go the local park ti feed the crows and birds there. But the ones that visit my garden are the regular ones that now know me I feel.
My father won't compromise with even leaving water out . He says they are ruining his rooftop and garden l.
I just feel down at the moment because whenever I go into the garden, they appear and wait.
Hi Germain,
Thank you for the idea. My father will not budge. He refuses to let me put water out, too.
I may explore the idea of using the back part of the garden as shelter in time for winter.
Just that seeing the regular birds I feed come to the garden everytime I go there is painful to see.
