Fledgling blackbird

Just reading similar threads - any help .
Rescued a fledgling black bird from an attacking crow - parents we present and making a commotion . Thankfully BB is ok but I haven’t seen the parents and I’ve tried to feed the BB ( cautiously) a small worm with tweezers and it wants and opens mouth but then hops off and starts calling for parents again . I don’t want to intervene where unnecessary but is this little one likely to have been abandoned? How long will it take for the parents to return ? Can I put down some wet puppy food ?

  • If you put down puppy meat that will attract all kinds of corvids ... best go inside to keep an eye on it otherwise you risk putting off the parents seeing to their fledgling! Always a difficult time of year for the young but you can't save them all however distressing!
