Identify this bird in my garden please

Can anyone help and tell me what this visitor is in my garden came right up to the door stayed for about 10 minutes. I imagine it's some type of Wading bird?

As said Becky, it's a Moorhen, not a normal garden bird, in fact I have never seen one in our garden. This one may have wandered in from a local pond or patch of water.
