We have house martins nesting in the eaves of our house- they come back to the same nest every year and I love them.
We need to do some work to our house- the builder says that unfortunately it can't be done without removing the nest. We'll obviously wait until there are no inhabitants but I wondered what the chances are of the birds returning? I think they have been using the same old nest for a long time and just carried out repairs. Is there anything we can do to encourage them to come back and rebuild next year when the old nest will be gone?
