Hi,
Looking for abit of advice.
About a month ago a robin decide to nest in a classic car that I’m restoring. I’ve left it well alone and the 4-5 eggs have turned in to chicks about a week ago. Reading up on the timeline it would appear that the chicks should be fledging in the next week or so? Once the chicks have fledge I ok to clean the nest out? Can’t really afford not to be able to work on the car for the rest of summer.
Cheers
Jim
Hi JIm, they certainly pick their places to nest! Even although the chicks will fledge in a week or so, it is still unlawful to interfere with a nest/site until the breeding season is over, boxes and nests can be cleaned out from October time. There are special circumstances where this can be allowed to happen but I don't think your situation would be one of them.
